So far, as apart of the video fellowship (everyone just keeps saying assistant or intern…and I really don’t want to correct them because that would be rude, and totally not my style) I’ve been doing a lot of small tasks that are best done now to get them out of the way. In the last 2 weeks I’ve helped update all the computers to Watchout 5.5.1, helped with the rigging for the Christies in the Bowmer Theatre, set up 2 projectors in the Thomas as well as focusing the side projectors that will hit the soffits, and I helped update the system flows for those two theaters as well (which I’m proud of myself for doing). It’s been a lot of going back and forth between theatres and a lot of stairs, so as for getting in shape this new year, I think I’m starting off pretty good. It’s been fun and I even got to record a rehearsal for The Tempest. So, on Sunday I got to sit in on a rehearsal that was on the stage, but it was their last day since they need to start putting together The Sign in the Sidney Brustein’s Window. Tech starts next week and then in a few weeks techs will start to overlap at least for video, so some I will have to be there myself to make sure things run smoothly for the designer and their assistant as well as take notes for them. It’s getting exciting at OSF! I’ll keep everyone updated, so come back next week for more!
